The proposal intends to project ARRI products’ virtues to space. The building aspires to be perceived as a three dimensional impression of ARRI products’ quality and its main purpose is to capture people’s imagination. We focused on creating spellbinding atmosphere trough different qualities of glass.

The main façade is split into three zones: cap, body and base. Each zone is a glass surface of different opacity, reflectiveness and color. The use of mirror eliminates the building’s boundaries. The top floor adjusts to the environment like a chameleon. The boundless top expresses ARRI’S limitless possibilities.  White frosted glass covers the first & second floors of the building. The glass creates a variety of tonality and an interplay of light and shadows. The elongated ground floor façade is used to create a gradient effect that ranges from total opacity to total transparency. This fading effect accentuates the building’s entrance.

For the side elevations we propose opaque matte materials in contrast to the glass of the main façade. The aim is to give the impression that the building is cut into sections that reveal its sharp steel core. The materials of the side elevations refer to the ones used for ARRI’S products.

A simple interactive installation multiplies the silhouettes of the people who cross the bridge. The result is a mesmerizing moving image that captures

the attention of the passers-by.

An atmospheric rich colored lobby with state-of-the-art lighting introduces the visitors to the magical world of the moving image. The proposed color is a hue of blue that refers both to the blue screen effect and of course ARRI’s logo.

An elongated blue surface is the canvas that receives information in the form of environmental graphics and/or projections. The lobby is constantly visible from the street through its clear glass façade giving a strong yet smooth and noise-free image. The main entrance is placed on the shorter side of the lobby and it is recessed to create an alcove.

The placement of the vertical blue surface along with the furniture accentuate the space’s long axis.

We propose that the biggest part of the lobby should be used for product display. The elongated wall placed in the middle, creates zones for exhibiting different types of products. Exhibits could range from the most recent high-end cameras and lighting equipment to special features and older pieces that marked the history of filmmaking.

Our aim was to provide a cutting-edge yet atmospheric ambience that will pinpoint to the public –both connoisseurs and newbies– ARRI’s belief and devotion to the magic of the moving image.
